Christmas is Coming

I am so excited for Christmas to be here. 7 more days!!! Of course, everyone is sick in the house. Did you know that even if you get the vaccine for Chicken Pox 3% of people still get it. My son is in the 3%. Makes for an interesting Christmas.

Can you believe that there is only 40 days until Christmas. Thanks to flylady, and cruising through the holidays I am not stressing, I am even having several events at my house and No stress what so ever. My goals is to have all my Christmas shopping done by Dec. 1st. Let's see how that goes.

On another note, Isn't it amazing how you can have two completely different children and yet they come from the same background.

Lord, Grant me the courage to change those things I can
Grant me the patience to accept those things I can't change
Grant me the wisdom to know the difference between the two

Children

Well, we are in the third month of school. Zero quilt projects have been finished since August and it is still over 100 degrees outside. The latest is why is it always a battle to get kids to do their homework? I mean, seriously, it would take them all of five minutes to complete but it takes 30 to get them to do it. Same goes for getting dressed in the morning. Unless, of course it's a Saturday and they want to go outside.

It's Raining.

Well, We have waited a long time and my plants have almost shriveled up and died but it is pouring outside. I am so excited. My favorite thing to do is go out and sit on the back porch and watch the rain.

Need To Get Back On Track

This week is main bathroom and another room. I need to get back on track. With spring break I am hoping to get way ahead on my quilting so I can take some time off in April. We will see how it goes. Need to go and put out some small fires.

Slacked

Last week started out strong with steam cleaning Carpets but it ended with me barely having my sink shiny each night. Today starts a new zone - the kitchen. This Rooney needs a lot of decluttering. We'll see how the week goes.
On the bright side I finished one of my two demos for the class I'm teaching today and got my homework assignment done for Wednesdays.

Survived my first week

I have survived my first week of the fly lady program. My sink is clean, my room is organized and I did all but one of the "Kelly missions". Today started zone 5 which is the hallway and living room. After starting the room, we decided to steam clean the carpet. I think the most amazing transformation was what I did to David's room. I know it was that zone but it had to be done. We could not even shut the door. I'll post before and after pictures. I have been telling everyone to go check out FlyLady.net. I even had the insurance adjuster out because of hail damage and I got him talking about getting organized. I think everyone should try this. For January we are focusing not going to bed without your sink shining. I wonder if there will be a new one. In the mean time keep those sink shining.

Zone 4 - Master bedroom

I have been trying to stay diligent to the FlyLady way. Today I did the Kelly Mission which was declutter the unmentionables and I even spent extra time and did all the drawers. Then for my 15 minutes of decluttering in the zone I did yesterdays mission and spent a good 30 minutes under my side of the bed. I found things from before my first child. It was amazing. And my sink is still shiny and my bed is made. I am still feeling really inspired. I also found that if I focus my energy on the FlyZone I don't snack nearly as much.

I'm a Flybaby

After a complete melt down and a few heated moments I came to the realization that if I truly wanted to get serious about my goal of getting organized this year I was going to need help. I was having dinner with the girls and was told about this website called FlyLady.net. I was lying in bed last night and checked it out. It was great. She greatly encourages us to take baby steps and that we can do anything for just 15 minutes. Needless to say that I downloaded everything today and created "My Control Journal". I even created one for my mom because she was interested in it. Today started zone 4, which is the master bedroom. Coincidentally, that was the room that I had just spent all of Sunday cleaning out my closet and distroying my bedroom. It was fate. I didn't get to my "Kelly's Mission" but my sink shines and I feel pretty good. The diswashers going, the house is straighten and I put a load of laundry away. I feel ready for the decluttering process to begin. This is definitely worth trying out. Thank you FlyLady.
